The Muslim fear of Superiority.

What is clear in the last several weeks is the total disgust that Muslims belonging to the Islamic state have towards that which is good and superior to Islam.

The total hate for Christianity. The truth, the only way to heaven is only one example of this. Since Christianity is the pinnacle of truth and goodness, it is by its very nature home to the most superior thoughts to have ever existed. Thus, the total hate of the Islamic state towards Christianity and Our Lord Jesus Christ (who is truly God and truly man and who, as God died on the cross for our salvation and after whom there are no prophets and anyone claiming to be a prophet is truly from none other than the devil) is understandable. This is proof that the Islamic state hates anything superior to it.

But let us look at other examples. The destruction of the ancient Assyrian city of Nimrud, the looting of the Mosul museum and the destruction of many ancient Mesopotamian artifacts is a clear indication that citizens of the Islamic state fear that which is superior to them in any way.

The Assyrian Empire, The Persian Empire, The Ancient Roman Empire, although lacking in many respects, are all still superior to Islam. This is why the Islamic State hates them and wants to remove any trace of them.

It seems that Muslims want to return us to one of two human development levels. Either a level of backwards tribalism which Mohamed grew up in Arabia, or, an era of tyranny by which people were united through fear, the sword and force.

But how are we to react as Christians? what are we to do? During this time of Saymo (Lent) we must have a spirit of contrition, both for us and for the followers of the devil-inspired Mohamed. So we pray the prayer of Our Lord "forgive them, for they do not know what they are doing". However, we must remember that at the same time that "Greater love hath no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends" and we MUST "speak the truth in love".

Patriarch Mar Raphael Louis Sako and Mar Sarhad Jammo - a traditional eastern opinion

It is a great pain when I hear of the recent events that have been unfolding within the Chaldean clergy. Especially in these times where Islamic faithful are taking and burning our Churches.

The events of the Chaldean Patriarch ordering Priests in Western USA to return back to Iraq and the subsequent appeal of the Eparch (Mar Jammo) to Rome is an event that is simply scandalous to the Chaldean faithful.
